After you drop in a PDF, every page is rendered as a small thumbnail using PDF.js so you can see what you're working with — these previews are low-resolution and used only for the selection screen. Click pages to assign them to File 1; everything else becomes File 2. When you split, pdf-lib copies each page's original content directly into the two new files, so both outputs keep the same quality as your source document. There's a 500-page limit per file for reliable browser processing.
